Yerba mate contains theobromine, which is also found in chocolate; it contains theophylline, which is present in green tea; it contains caffeine, about 1-1.5% compared 2-3% in Coffee. The combination of these three boosters (caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline) works together and creates an effect unique from all other drinks.
